Oliver Jeffers - Illustrator

Oliver Jeffers is an illustrator that i will be looking at for my negotiated brief.  After purchasing one of his books for my 3 year old brother, i decided to look into more of his works.  He seems to use watercolours for his illustrations yet the colours are so vivid and contrasting that you cannot help but look at them.

lastminute.com

cant get the video to upload

This is my final piece for my lastminute.com sting project.  The concept behind the piece is 'you dont have to be an early bird' to catch all the good holiday deals.  I am quite pleased with how this turned out saying as how before starting the project, the class didnt really have any Adobe Flash skills, yet we all managed to successfully produce a full animation.

Darling Spuds

Darling Spuds are one of my favourite crisp packaging currently.  They have taken a completely different approach to their packaging than the other competition you see on the supermarket shelves currently.  Along with many of the markets hand cooked crisps, Darling Spuds uses a thick, matt, textured material for the bag which makes the crisps feel more luxurious and gives the appearance that time and consideration has been put into the whole product.  The use of pale, natural colours gives the impression that the product is rustic, organic and homemade rather than they have been mass produces in some factory.  The imagery uses photography with line illustration added on which aids to the hand created feel as well as giving the product some kind of personality.  The packaging is fun and creative yet the typography used gives the packaging a more traditional, established finish; you feel as though you can trust this brand.
